We are pleased to announce that Brutal Panda Records is now accepting pre-orders for our split seven-inch with Bay Area heavyweights Kowloon Walled City. Kowloon's principle guitarist slash vocalist slash our good friend Scott Evans joins us for a cover of "Lava" by Ministry while our very own Fade Kainer offers his vocal chords to Kowloon for a cover of "Anthem" by Godflesh. You can stream the latter at Stereogum, but for the former you'll have to shell out a whopping six-ninety-nine-plus-shipping to Brutal Panda. It's the perfect Christmas gift for that annoying Coldplay-lover in your life. Order here.
Public Assembly in Brooklyn will be hosting a release party for 'Concrete Sustain' on Saturday, April 27. Joining us will be Inter Arma and Earthling. It's an early show-- should be something like Earthling at 8, Inter Arma at 9, and us at 10. We'll have CD and vinyl copies of the new album for sale, of course. Tickets are available now.
Did you manage to make it through all eleven minutes and 39 seconds of yesterday's video? Did it give you humorrhoids, too?
Cvlt Nation has a different take, saying that 'Concrete Sustain' is "the sound of modern doom, and each track here holds dear to its heart the essence and core of the doom genre, yet Batillus twist it and turn it onto something new and different and a marvel to experience."
Pick up the imported Vendetta pressing vinyl (limited colored vinyl pictured above, we also have standard black-- these records look fantastic!) from us when you see us at a show and you'll get a code to download MP3s of the album courtesy of Seventh Rule.
Tour starts tomorrow in Chicago, see dates above or here. Imported vinyl copies of 'Concrete Sustain' appeared out of nowhere yesterday (USPS claims to this very minute that they're still in Frankfurt, Germany), less than 24 hours before our scheduled departure. CD copies will be available at shows soon too, but not for the first few shows. In the meantime, listen to "Mirrors" over at Invisible Oranges.
'Concrete Sustain' will be out March 19 on Seventh Rule and around the same time in Europe on Vendetta. We are going on tour to... whatever the kvlt version of "celebrate" is. Click through for the dates. Also, Twitter.

We have a new full-length coming in March called 'Concrete Sustain.' That's the cover above. We like it quite a bit and hope you will as well. If you want to read all about the who, what, when, where, how, etc. you can read the "official press release" over here. Stay tuned and we'll hook you up with some new tracks in the coming weeks.
We'll be heading up to Providence, RI on December 1st to play our first out-of-town show since we stopped touring earlier this summer to focus on recording our next full-length. The show is at AS220 and we'll be joined by fellow New Yorkers Gnaw along with Rhode Island locals Tovarish, Kintaan, and Limiter Limited.
We've also received a small shipment of new T-shirts in the "Face" design, pictured above. These are a gray/gunmetal ink on black shirts and available in small, medium, and large. We still have a few XLs available in the "Copper Face" and "Rope Man" designs as well. Check our merch page for more.
UPDATED 11/6/12: We'll be playing at Saint Vitus two weeks from today with Nachtmystium, Mutilation Rites, Lord Mantis, and Sannhet. Jarboe and Bruce Lamont evidently had to cancel. For a lineup like that, it's worth coming out on a Monday. We'll be playing some new songs, including this one called "Concrete," from our forthcoming LP which is currently being mixed by Sanford Parker and will be released next spring. In unrelated news, our friends Kowloon Walled City have a new record coming out on December 4th called 'Container Ships.' There's a track streaming at Brooklyn Vegan and we strongly recommend checking it out.
We will be playing an unofficial CMJ party for Pitchfork'sShow No Mercy on Saturday, October 20 at 285 Kent along with Car Bomb, Pyrrhon, Primitive Weapons, and Theologian. It's all ages and tickets are available here. Here's a video from a recent show of "Feral," which is available on our split with Whitehorse from Vendetta Records.
We've added a last-minute show at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn this coming Sunday, September 2. It's an after party for the Power of the Riff Festival and we'll be joined by a special surprise guest, though if you're a careful reader you can surmise who it will be. Doors will open at 11:59pm and it's free for all Power of the Riff attendees (five bucks for everyone else).
Our split 12" with Whitehorse is out now on Vendetta Records. Order the LP from Bis Auf's Messer and/or download the tracks from our bandcamp page or purchase from us or Whitehorse directly when we tour with them next month. The first 100 orders will receive limited-edition white vinyl*, the rest will receive black. Check it out:
* We will have a handful (8, to be precise) of the white vinyl on tour with us for those who catch us at one of the early shows.

Our good friend James Spruill (a.k.a. Bitter Boxcar) made a video for an old song of ours called "Tunguska" using a lot of old found footage and clips from propaganda videos and what-not. It's pretty cool, check it out: "Tunguska" was recorded at the very first recording session Batillus ever did. This was before Fade was in the band, so there are no vocals, no samples, no synth-- just guitar, bass, and drums. Our buddy AJ Peters (who also plays in the band Summoner, formerly known as Riff Cannon) recorded, mixed, and mastered this track way back in 2008, and all for basically a case of beer and a couple sandwiches from Spiro's.
In May, Vendetta Records will be releasing a split 12" featuring two new Batillus songs on side A and a new song from Australia's Whitehorse on side B. That's the cover above, by Scott Irvine. Special thanks to Andrew Mittelman and Sound Generation for making this record happen, and to James Plotkin for his always-superb mastering skills.
We'll be touring with Whitehorse in June in support of this release. Dates, which span the eastern half of the US, will be announced shortly.
Batillus / Whitehorse Split 12" Tracklist:
Side A - Batillus 1. Silver Mortar 2. Feral
Side B - Whitehorse 1. Dark Age
Here's a preview of "Silver Mortar" from a recent show in Brooklyn (thanks to unARTigNYC):
Come to the Acheron this Friday, March 23 for our first New York show in five months. We'll be playing at least one-- possibly two-- new songs, which will be released in May on a split 12" with Australia's Whitehorse.
